20 September from 14:00-16:00 at Konstepidemin
Women who swim in Göteborg, Sweden, please join American author Erika Dillman for a unique creative workshop where we will dive into the myths of the past and create something entirely new: a modern feminist water deity born from women’s experiences swimming in open water.
For centuries, men have shaped the stories of goddesses, casting them as beautiful and seductive, capricious and vindictive with their power. It’s time to change that narrative.
Together, we will:
- Share our personal connections to the water
- Brainstorm images, ideas, and themes that reflect our love of wild swimming
- Reimagine the female water spirit as a goddess who represents the hearts and souls of women who find bliss, strength, and more in the water.
Whether you’re a seasoned open-water swimmer or new to wild swimming, bring your stories and ideas. Let’s craft a goddess who embodies freedom, strength, sisterhood, and the wild beauty of the water we love.
Spaces limited. Please reserve your spot now by emailing Erika at misserika@schmerika.com to request a ticket and receive directions to the event.
