Today at the lake it was cold and windy. The water was really choppy, and my body felt like lead trying to swim. I meet two new swim pals, K and E. They mostly soaked. E is a soaker. K is acclimating and sort of new to this cold water thing.
I was a mess in the water. The wind made the water all murky, so I couldn’t see the bottom of the lake. I also couldn’t swim very well. So much effort. I alternated between treading water and trying to swim a few feet.
Never made it out to the deep deep, staying relatively close to the cement dock. Then I had to come in. K and E got out, and I didn’t want to make them wait in the cold.
I swam in, then took my photos and vid (usually do that at the start). More to come. I need to eat. I’m starving.
